Ford
The Ford Motor Company came into being on June the sixteenth, nineteen zero three. The company was created by the well-known Henry Ford and numerous business associates pulling together funds of twenty eight thousand pounds in order to produce mass market automobiles that could be bought by the common man.
In order to produce cars for the masses Ford would have to create a production operation which kept costs down which they could then pass onto customers. They were able to do this by the innovation and adopting of the moving assembly line – a first in manufacturing. This was put into operation in Michigan (USA) in nineteen thirteen. The moving assembly line allowed workers to stay in the same place, performing the same task again and again. The efficient method increased productivity by a staggering amount, reducing the overall cost of producing a single car and thus making Ford products far more affordable. This was the start of the Ford companies economic explosion, becoming the global force that it is today.
